Under the call “Climates: Actions for Good Living,” the XIII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU) encourages cultural exchange and situates the production of habitat within the notion of “good living.” This Andean concept highlights the practices, knowledge, and ways of living of indigenous peoples while promoting ecological integrity, harmony with the territory, and respect for all forms of life on the planet. As a framework, it invites us to rethink the limits and possibilities of design, focusing on the search for new meanings, processes, and rules for coexistence, and promoting the production and dissemination of knowledge. The call for projects received 879 entries from more than 21 different countries. The XIII BIAU awarded 47 projects that represent innovative solutions for the creation of sustainable, inclusive, and culturally diverse environments.
